There were already signs of a compact model of the Glock 17 in 1998. At the time, it was referred to as the G-17 Compact. In 1990 Glock introduced this as Model 19. It comes in 9 mm Para caliber with a standard magazine capacity of 15 rounds. With a special magazine, this capacity can be increased by two rounds. The pistol has a total length of 174 mm (6 ¾ in). The hexagonal barrel is 102 mm (4in) long and has a right-hand twist of 250 mm (10in). The height of the weapon is 127 mm (5 in), and the sight radius in 152 mm (6 in). Without a magazine the pistol weights 595 g (21 oz). The standard trigger pressure is 2500 g (5 ½ lb). The same type with a built-in compensator is the model 19C.
